ABCs - "L" is for Lesgret
"Few folks today would recognize this as an L. Done in an ornamental French script utilizing wavy lines, this rippling shade technique predates the American ornamental Spencerian "needle-stitch" script by 190 years. Also, up till now I've only used the names of letter parts & writing tools to represent the characters in this series. But in this instance I picked a little known French writing master Nicolas Lesgret who used to employ such writing. Next I will next post this cap with an example of the matching lowercase script."
