Ampersand - Louis Barbedor

"Here is an ampersand design I recently came across in Barbedor's, Les Escritures Financière Et Italienne-Bastarde, c. 1647. Arguably the most important French penman of the 15th c., Barbedor, Secretary to the King, was assigned the task of revising the scripts used for all official French documents & publications. It is Barbedor's work that created the transformative stage between the obsolete gothic cursives and what would become English Roundhand."
