Minerals - Azurite - English-Italian Hand

"The first in my mineralogy series is one of my most favorite mineral specimens, azurite. Few things in nature rival the intense vibrant blue of azurite.

The style of script in this series is English-Italian Hand, a close second in popularity with the classical English penmen of the 12th & 18th centuries. Its appearance is delicate & airy. It was used more in a decorative capacity than for common usage like English Roundhand. I was often used along with English Roundhand almost like an Italic, to callout initials, key names, titles, etc.. The caps were done with shading running reverse of normal while the small letters were shaded in the usual direction, albeit very lightly. "
