Minerals - Fuchsite- English Italian Hand

"Looking like silvery-green layers of crumpled cellophane, Fuschite is a green variety of mica. Its green color comes from its chromium content. I've found 3 different spellings for this mineral. The correct spelling is probably Fuchsite since the mineral is named after the mineralogist Fuchs. However, this is the spelling that labeled the specimen when I bought it at the Smithsonian… And I don't feel like redoing the art today!

The F is a design of my own done in the English-Italian hand style. The "s" is a variant of the old fashioned "long s" no longer in use. I wanted to keep the flourishing on this one lighthearted and open."
