Appearing as brief streaks of light as they burn up from friction. Meteors hit the atmosphere at speeds of 7 to 24 miles per second. Most are no larger than a grain of sand but occasionally larger chunks make it to the ground before being completely vaporized. Those remnants are called meteorites.

On rare occasion English Roundhand uses a rounded lowercase type of cap M such as this variant. The pointed t used here was also rare. However this form of t later became the norm in American Engrossers' Script and also as a final letter. This t crosses above the waist-height of the lowercase which was not common in English Roundhand. This was done to clear adjacent letters. Also I have rendered the t-cross to imply a meteor."

~2011, Don Marsh~
©2011 Don Marsh
