Spencerian Script "r" Variations

" Spencerian is an impressive and artistic hand. But unlike English Roundhand, which has dozens of forms of "r," Spencerian uses 2 basic types (and a third variant when appearing as a final which I will show tomorrow). This presentation shows those 2 basic types. The one to the left is by far the most common, however the one to the right is a common alternate. There are many subtle variations of detail that spring from these 2 forms, mostly due to idiosyncrasies in personal writing traits."
