Minerals - Galena - English Italian Hand

"This bluish-silver-gray mineral specimen is Galena, which is lead sulfide. Galena is the principle ore from which we obtain lead and has been mined since the times of the Egyptians. Galena also often contains significant amounts of silver. Note the gold tinge along the left of the specimen which is pyrite, another mineral galena is commonly found with. I find a simple subtle beauty in this common ore."
