Minerals - Moonstone - English Italian Hand

"Moonstone is feldspar of pearly, opalescent translucence that has been popular in jewelry since the times of the Romans. The piece I have isn't that big, but I think it's a beautiful little specimen. I especially find the fracture lines attractive.

The M is my own design. I've never seen anything like it used in English-Italian Hand, but it follows all the principles of the hand and would bee comfortable in the company of the other historic caps within the style. Another unique feature of this this composition that I've not seen in historic examples of English-Italian Hand are the st ligature & this form of t, both of which, tho uncommon, may be found in English Roundhand. English penmen frequently merged various English Roundhand traits into their English-Italian Hand. "
