"This third offering of "Organic Lettering" is an example of one of the more common variations to be found from the 1850s on. No doubt this was due to the fact that it can be quickly & easily executed. Also, having practically no rules it can be plied into many shapes & spaces making it useful in publications. Another appeal of these organic styles was that even though we had begun the industrial revolution we were still an agrarian society and there was a romanticization of the things of nature.'
