Minerals - Pyromorphite - English Italian Hand

"Pyromorphite is another favorite from my mineral collection. A dramatic rich green crystalized form of oxidized lead ore, it's name derives from the Greek for "fire" and "form." The crystals of this mineral are rather delicate so must be handled with care. Pyromorphite can also be found in shades of yellow and brown, but it is the bright green variety that is usually sought by collectors.

In the English-Italian Hand, the cap characters P, R, & B were sometimes rendered with a tight loop at the apex of the letter, as on this P, lending a distinctly ornamental form."
